- First described
- 2012
- Type
- form true anthocyanin free
Origin
A confirmed-pure ssp. venosa anthocyanin-free form. Wild origin not stated; Mike was unaware of any wild documentation as of 2012.
Mike's emphasis (post #1, 2012): the cultivation literature is contaminated with two common mislabels — S. rosea f. heterophylla sold as venosa, and AF hybrid plants sold as venosa. Mike's plants are confirmed pure venosa AF and serve as a reference standard.
History
- Pre-2012: Mike acquires (date / source unspecified).
- 2012-09-25 (post #1): first forum documentation, with the identity-confusion caveats.
- 2012-09-28 (defalotus, post #2): has seedlings; hopes they develop the same look.
Standout traits
- Authentic anthocyanin-free venosa.
- Extreme rarity in confirmed-pure form.
Cultivation notes
[MISSING].
Photos
3 Mike-Wang photos from September 2012.
Standout traits
- Authentic ssp. venosa anthocyanin-free phenotype — extremely uncommon in cultivation
- All-green tissue including pitcher exterior and interior
Cultivation
[MISSING] — single-page thread, no specific cultivation advice.

Naming
f. heterophylla = anthocyanin-free form. "Heterophylla" historically applied to the AF morphotype across purpurea subspecies. ssp. venosa pins the southern (Coastal Plain) lineage rather than ssp. purpurea (boreal/northern range).
