Origin
A S. montana clone in Mike's collection from Henderson Co, North Carolina. Acquired many years ago; Mike characterizes the acquisition as once-in-a-lifetime — very few growers hold it, and most who do are unwilling to distribute.
Standout traits
- Bulbous trap form even on small spring traps.
- Lids fold over with age — classic montana visual.
- Winter trap morphology dramatically different from grow-season — consistent with all montana clones in Mike's experience.
Cultivation notes
Not as challenging as the most demanding montanas (e.g., Samuel Jackson Co, NC) but still requires montana-specific experience.
Standout traits
- Quite bulbous trap form even on new spring traps.
- Lids fold over with age — gives the clone a classic 'montana-ey' appearance.
- Winter traps look almost completely different from grow-season traps (Mike: this is universal across his montana clones).
Cultivation
Not as difficult as some montanas (e.g., Samuel Jackson Co, NC), but still requires experience to keep alive long-term. Mike notes that all montana clones he's grown undergo a strong winter trap morphology shift relative to grow-season traps.
