Standout traits
- One of the prized red clones in this var. okefenokeensis lineage
- Spring/summer pitchers normally not very colorful — solid dark red develops in fall
- 2012 was an unusual year — even spring traps showed color
- Fast grower; in good years has produced gigantic traps
- Solid red in cold-sunny December weather (Mike, post #7, 2022-12-19)
- Distribution: high demand has reduced collection to 2 mother plants (post #8, 2025-01)
Cultivation
Outdoor Northern California. Robust through hard freezes, although the bigger pitchers can get cosmetically burned (Mike, post #7, 2022-12-19). Plants survive winter dormancy fully intact. High demand has thinned Mike's mother stock; he expects fall-2025 division availability.
