Origin
A standout S. minor var. minor from Old Dock, Columbus Co, NC. In Mike's collection ~20 years (acquired ~2003); plants were neglected for nearly a decade and only revived starting ~2019-2020. Mike recognized this clone as a standout only in the past year or two before 2023.
Standout traits
- Striking red windowing — highly sought after.
- Fenestration coverage wraps around to the front of the trap (per adaetz100's mature growth observation).
- Recoverable from extended neglect — clear vigor signal.
Cultivation notes
adaetz100 reports that allowing flowering and pollination attempts stressed the recently-divided plant; pitcher production resumed once flowering pressure was removed.
Standout traits
- Highly sought-after; jaw-dropping red windows.
- Window/fenestration coverage wraps around to front of trap (per adaetz100, 2024).
- In Mike's collection ~20 years (acquired ~2003); badly neglected for ~10 years; recovered ~2019-2020 onward.
- 'Discovered' as a standout in Mike's batch only in the past year or two before 2023.
Cultivation
Recovers well from neglect. adaetz100 (post #3) notes that flowering / pollination attempts can stress the plant during acclimation — division recovery took some time.
