Origin
A small S. minor var. minor population in Mike's collection from Brantley Co, Georgia. Acquired ~2014 (a decade before the 2024 thread). Brantley material is described as "extremely rare" — others reportedly grow similar Brantley clones but availability has been limited.
Standout traits
- Rare in cultivation.
- Some individuals reddish.
- Strong window character (per henrymoore's parallel Lois Ochs clone observation).
- Recoverable from extended neglect.
Cultivation notes
Mike's plants were near-death (cramped, unrepotted community pot) and several original clones were lost before the divisions and fresh soil of winter 2022-2023. Recovery photos through 2024 show the population fully back to producing strong traps.
Standout traits
- Extremely rare in cultivation.
- Some individuals appear reddish.
- Traps with strong window/fenestration coverage that wraps to the front (per henrymoore's parallel observation on his Lois Ochs-source Brantley clone).
- Recoverable from extended neglect.
Cultivation
Mike's plants were crammed in a community pot in the "weedy section" and badly neglected — many original clones were lost. Divided + repotted winter 2022-2023; recovering since.
