A unique red-bodied + white-lipped Franklin Co leucophylla — selected by Mike from a hundreds-of-plants batch as the only individual with this exact color combination. Slow grower but extraordinary phenotype with potential breeding value (per Mike, the genetics could enable novel black-bodied / white-lipped hybrids if crossed appropriately). 11 Mike photos (2017-2019).
Standout traits
- Red body with contrasting WHITE lips — Mike has never seen another like it
- Selection from many hundreds of seedlings; only one with this trait
- Powdered-sugar / 'frosted tips' visual descriptor (forum reactions)
- Not particularly vigorous
- First bloomed 2018; Mike missed crossing it that year
- Mike's hypothesis on backbone breeding genes: a 'black bodied, white lipped hybrid' might be possible by combining this clone with the black-lipped flava ornata lineage
Cultivation
- Not vigorous — slow propagation expected.
- Standard leucophylla care.

Naming
Mike's descriptive 'White Lips' label — the contrasting white lip on a red body. Mike (post 1, 2017-05-02): "Another plant that I have never seen anywhere: a red bodied leucophylla with contrasting white lips!"
