A naturally-occurring 'cryptic' S. × moorei (leucophylla × flava var. rugelii) from Southern Baldwin Co, AL — looks like a pure leucophylla until you see the red throat patch that reveals its hybrid ancestry. Documented from 2015 to 2023 (19 photos: 18 Mike, 1 Phil Long).
Origin
Wild-origin natural S. × moorei from Southern Baldwin Co, AL. Original collector and date are [MISSING]. Mike's accession predates 2015.
Calen's reply (2015-10-06) puts this in context: similar cryptic moorei plants occur in nearby Florida counties; the Santa Rosa Co site Calen photographed is also home to the S. × Adrian Slack type material.

Naming
Mike's descriptive 'Red Throat' label — references the conspicuous red throat patch that gives away the flava rugelii ancestry. Mike (post 1, 2015-09-25): "The red throat is a DEAD GIVEAWAY that this isn't a pure leucophylla."
