- Type
- individual clone minimal documentation
Origin
Wild locality not documented in this thread. Part of Mike's letter-designated rugelii series (Clones A, AxB, B, D, F).
History
Single thread, single Mike-post (2012-05-15). Mike's distinguishing remark in post #3: "after growing out many different clones, it seems under optimal conditions, most of the S. flava var. rugelii's can produce a red throat. However, certain clones, like Clone A, AxB, clone B, clone D, etc. consistently produce a well defined red throat year after year." Clone F is by implication NOT in the consistent-red-throat tier.
Standout traits
- Huge red splotch in throat (nico's response describing the thread photos)
- Comparison reference for the inconsistent-red-throat side of Mike's lettered rugelii series
Cultivation notes
[MISSING] — thread does not document.
Photos
Three Mike-source photos (all 2012-05-15, post #1).
Standout traits
- Huge red splotch in throat (nico, post #2)
- Per Mike (post #3): does NOT consistently produce a well-defined red throat year-over-year, unlike Clone A, AxB, B, D — Clone F is positioned as a borderline-red-throat clone
