Origin
Selected by Mike from hundreds of Liberty Co rubricorpora seedlings — only 4-5 turned out to be truly dark. This clone is one of those, and the best in shape per Mike.
Standout traits
- Dark coloration — rare in Mike's batch.
- Elegant trap shape (best of the dark clones).
- Colors up easily — bad-year color depth still incredible.
- Aged traps shift toward purple-black.
Standout traits
- Dark — among only 4-5 truly dark clones from hundreds of Mike's rubricorpora seedlings.
- Best of the dark clones for shape.
- Colors up relatively easily — dark clones are characterized by ease of color (color even in 'bad' years).
- Traps deepen toward purple-black with age.
Cultivation
Mike's heuristic for identifying dark rubricorporas: ease of color development. Even in poor years, dark clones look incredibly deep red; in great years, super dark. This trait separated this clone from the hundreds of seedlings.
