Origin
A S. flava var. ornata from Shand's Bog, Dinwiddie Co, Virginia. Mike's plant is the wild-derived original clone (he also holds selfed-seed material in cramped community pots). Acquired winter 2023-24.
Standout traits
- Wild-derived original lineage — distinct from Mike's selfed-seed community-pot plants.
- 2025 update: "pretty spectacular" — vegetatively mature.
- Lid venation reminiscent of Okaloosa Co, FL ornatas.
Cultivation notes
Settled in first season; reached visible spectacular stage by 2025-05.
Standout traits
- Wild-derived original clone — Mike has selfed-seed material in cramped community pots in addition.
- Mike: 'pretty spectacular clone' (2025 update) — venation reminiscent of Okaloosa Co FL ornatas.
- Possibly classifiable as flava var. flava, maxima, or ornata at acquisition; resolved as ornata after trapping up.
Cultivation
Acquired winter 2023-24; settled in well first season. 2025 update: now vegetatively mature and "pretty spectacular."
