The last known surviving clone of the Iredell Co (and 3 adjacent western NC counties) flava lineage — wild populations all extirpated. Solid bright-red veins, sparse but striking expression, summer-dormant (oreophila-like). Conservation- significant; NASC + landowner working on regional restoration. 10 Mike photos (2021-2023).
Standout traits
- ONLY remaining clone of the Iredell Co historical flava lineage — conservation-significant
- All wild flavas in Iredell + 3 adjacent counties extirpated
- Solid bright-red veins on tube — minimal branching/splitting (jgreen1025, 2021)
- Strong but sparse veining — Mike (2023): 'an ornata can be stunning without having a gazillion veins'
- Behaves like S. oreophila — produces phyllodia and goes dormant in summer (atypical for flava)
- Old spring traps turn yellowish
Cultivation
- Summer-dormant — produces phyllodia like oreophila.
- NASC + landowner may yet find a partner clone in the region (almightydolla 2021 update).

Naming
Mike's locality designation. 'Spookydell Co' was Mike's joke alternative — withdrawn after the plant turned out beautiful rather than 'spooky.' Originally believed almost lost in cultivation; almightydolla (NASC) confirmed slowly getting around + backed up overseas.
