An inland Piedmont flava population (Uwharrie Mountains, sympatric with the Montgomery venosa). Hilly habitat unusual for Carolina flavas. Multiple sub-types (flava-flava + maxima) and consistently yellow expression. 12 Mike photos (2022-2025).
Standout traits
- Significant — flavas from a hilly inland Piedmont site (atypical Carolina-flava habitat)
- Within-population diversity — flava-flava + maxima clones present
- Consistently very yellow year after year (Mike 2024)
- Distinctive shape clone with interesting neck (Mike 2025)
- Mike speculates: super-yellow clones may emerge from this population
