- First described
- 2013
- Type
- single clone
Origin
Wild-locality cuprea from Brunswick Co, NC, distinct from the Cartaret / Onslow populations by earlier flowering. Mike's introductory thread (2013) is the only Mike-source documentation of this specific clone.
Standout traits
- Orange-ish lid color
- Fine pin-stripe veining
- Early flowering relative to other NC flavas
- Excellent symmetric trap shape (per rmeyer's grow)
Standout traits
- Almost orange-ish coloration to the lid (Mike, post #1, 2013)
- Lots of pin-stripes / fine veining (audacityofthemind914 comment, 2017)
- Earlier flowering than Cartaret Co / Onslow Co flava populations
- Best shape of all rmeyer's cupreas (post #7, 2020); but color fades through the life of the leaf in his climate
Cultivation
Mike's plants were divided in winter 2021; the 2022-07 photos show the lower-color expression typical post-division.

Naming
Mike's accession-letter label. Originally introduced in 2013 simply as "an interesting clone of S. flava var. cuprea from Brunswick Co, NC"; the "Clone A" designation appears in Mike's 2022 update post.
